Welcome to the

HEART Lab

Our approach

Welcome to the Health Equity & Access Research & Treatment Lab (HEART Lab), where we are dedicated to fostering mental health equity and access for all. Our lab integrates clinical practice, teaching, and cutting-edge research to reduce disparities in suicide. With a focus on ethnoracially minoritized youth and those impacted by various social systems, we strive to develop culturally responsive treatments and explore the influence of cultural factors on psychopathology. Join us in our pursuit of a more inclusive and equitable future, where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.

Message from our Director

“The main goal of the HEART lab is to ensure that ethnoracially minoritized youth and their families are represented in research studies and that their experiences and voices guide the development of new suicide treatment and prevention approaches.”
