Culturally Adapting Caring Contacts for suicide prevention in Latine/x college students: a pilot study

The objective of this pilot study is to tailor caring contacts (non-demanding messages of care) for Latine/x college students at risk for self-harm. The primary aims are to identify if a culturally and developmentally tailored version of caring contacts can increase engagement with mental health services for Latine/x college students via two modes of delivery: text messages and voice memos. The findings of this mixed-methods study will be used to inform ALACRITY Project 3 which focuses on indicators of suicidal/self-harm behaviors that allow delivery of just-in-time digital interventions. In addition, this project will inform on the provision of mental services for Latine/x college students, specifically community college and transfer students.
